Meel is built on other people’s work. This page names all of it.

Maps, distances and fuel pumps

© OpenStreetMap contributorsPositions of places, the line of each road, fuel pumps, the hospitals and police stations on each emergency card, and the districts each road crosses. Used under the Open Database Licence. Places were looked up with Nominatim, roads worked out with the Open Source Routing Machine, and pumps found with the Overpass service. Where the map had no pump in a town, pumps come from the oil company’s own locator, which each one names.

Read every hour

NDMA SACHETThe government’s alert feed. Official alerts on “Is it open?” are its words, from the office that issued them. Public domain, as the feed says.
Open-MeteoWeather at the passes. Used under the CC BY 4.0 licence, free for a site with no ads and no subscriptions.
Offices’ own pagesUttarakhand PWD’s list of closed roads, the date on Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police’s daily advisory, and the date on Lahaul and Spiti’s road status page. Each is linked where it is shown.

Heights

NASA Shuttle Radar Topography MissionPublic domain. Served by Open Topo Data. Heights are read from a 90 m grid and can differ from a signboard by a hundred feet or so. They are shown in feet.

All from Wikimedia Commons, each under a free licence. Every picture has been resized. Those marked “edited by” were edited by that person before Meel used them. Nothing else was changed.

Riders’ videos play on YouTube, under the maker’s own channel. Meel shows the title, the channel’s name and YouTube’s own small picture of the video, and links to it. Nothing is copied or uploaded again.

Lettering is Barlow Condensed and Hind, both under the SIL Open Font Licence. Icons follow the Lucide set, under the ISC licence.
