What we could not find
11 gapsA gap is not a fact. It means we looked and found no source.
- No official page names Umling La as open to civilians or to motorcycles; this rests on bloggers and operators.
- No official source found on foreign citizens at Umling La; three unofficial sources disagree.
- No yearly opening or closing dates found for any of the last five years.
- Altitude of Photi La not sourced.
- Sources give 19,020, 19,030 and 19,300 feet for Umling La (5,798, 5,799 and 5,883 metres); the encyclopedia figure, 19,030 feet, is used.
- An encyclopedia entry says a higher road at Mig La overtook Umling La in 2025; whether civilians may use it was not found.
- No written order found for the army turning travellers back or for the bar on descending to Demchok.
- No government order found for the restriction on rental motorcycles from outside Ladakh.
- No official page states the Ladakh tourist fee amounts, so they are left out.
- Video filming dates are not stated; they were published on 31 July 2026 and 22 July 2025.
- Some stretch distances are doubtful. The open map may not know the road riders use, so the routing service went the long way round.
