Snow clearance now finishes in April, but for the first weeks only four-wheel-drive vehicles are let over, and no source gives the day motorcycles were first allowed in most years.
Notes and sources for each year
- 2026. Open to four-wheel-drive vehicles on 12 March, blocked again on 15 March, four-wheel-drive only from 25 April. District formally opened it on 10 May. No source names motorcycles. discoverlehladakh.in tribuneindia.com
- 2025. Tourists from 10 April in four-wheel-drive vehicles or with snow chains. Closed by snow on 20 April; restored by 25 April, when 45 stranded tourists were moved out. Reported open on 15 May. - 2024. Pass declared open on 4 April. Four-wheel-drive one-way from 22 April, light vehicles from 28 May. Shut 4 to 9 August after a flood damaged a bridge. Tourists restricted from 20 November. discoverlehladakh.in discoverlehladakh.in
